Pre-Vibe Check-In

As you may or may not know, the early stages of quarantine were my time to shine. I launched a podcast, wrote a blog article, and lost 10 pounds. Everything was introvert-wonderful until I fell off somewhere between Lockdown Week 4 and and BLM Protests Week 1, only evidenced by apparent absence on social media, save an aggressive slew of anarchy memes in my Instagram Story and the occasional tweet:

Since then, I haven't launched another podcast episode or written another blog post, almost joined a cult, and gained everything back BUT its all okay because we're here now, sanity moderately in-tact. Please enjoy the very first edition of Musings & Rabbitholes; a round-up of interesting things to make your life better.

Knowledge is Power

I've been giving a lot of thought to Knowledge lately. More specifically, hidden knowledge, knowledge that has been kept from the masses, knowledge that reserves power to the select people that possess it, and empowers anyone with enough fortitude to find it.

If the truth has nothing to hide, why has there been such an effort to hide certain truths?

Caffeine Chaos

I decided to partake in a dopamine detox in quarantine. During this process, I lowered my caffeine intake and decided to ditch it altogether after learning how it actually interacts with the brain (scary). In the meantime, you can learn the truth about drugs- I mean caffeine- below.

TL;DR: America runs on drugs.

Demiurge Delusion

Lastly, I've been trying to construct a template for the nature of reality. The truth of the spiritual world. In doing so, I fell down a rabbit hole about the Demiurge, not that I have conviction one way or the other. The Demiurge is the concept of a false creator god who rules over this world and is the cause for creation being imperfect in nature. Real coffee-table-book, PTA-meeting-agenda content.

Anyway, it get's weird.

What better time than the apocalypse to deep-dive into documentaries about the impending collapse of our financial system? This documentary outlines a very interesting history of money; where it's been, where it is now, and where it's headed.

My friend and mentor Rebecca Gordon gifted me this Diptique Paris candle for my birthday and I have been burning it nonstop since. The scent is interesting and complex; it makes me immensely happy and is the perfect addition to lockdown sensory vibes.

I never knew there was a world of wholesome (Christian) rap, but ever since discovering Marcus Rogers and listening to his album Deeper Waters, I have been exclusively listening to wholesome rap. Highly recommend, "Drippin'" is my favorite.

"We have art in order not to die from the truth." -Nietzsche

Lastly, here is the meme that has made me laugh the hardest over the last week. Click to listen with the sound on for the full Phil Collins effect.
